For The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the world’s authoritative repository of scientific botanical knowledge and nomenclature, provided detailed orientation to the publishing industry and ecosystem to enable Kew to understand how best to make its comprehensive botanical taxonomic resources known and used by publishers and their partners. The engagement involved educating Kew staff about the differences between publishing sectors, as well as their workflows, service providers, and technology partners, resulting in a set of interviews with carefully chosen representatives of those sectors and players who might find the most value in Kew’s extensive and highly structured resources.
